Over the past ten years I have wavered. I have visited the web site numerous times, browsed the information, bookmarked it (again) and left. That is, until yesterday.
Yesterday I didn’t leave the site. Instead I stayed, filled in the fields and hit enter. Yesterday I signed up to be a bone marrow donor. After hearing the news of Robin Roberts, whom I’ve admired since her days at ESPN, it was time to sign up once and for all. How could I not? Forget the fear. Being a bone marrow donor and having the possibility of being able to save a life is an honor.
Apparently I wasn’t alone. PRNewser has reported that 3600 people signed up yesterday at BetheMatch.com. A typical day yields 200-300 signups.
Cheering you on, Robin Roberts. You go on with your bad self.
On that note, it’s time to link up your favorite post from the past week. I can’t wait to read them.

Thank you so much for the linky!!!
Thanks to YOU for joining us!
I signed up several years ago (early 2008) where they actually did a blood test. My step dad had multiple mylomia and had a non-related bone marrow transplant. I never did get a call and when I updated my info that I had fibromyalgia they will not allow me to be active anymore. But I am glad that so many more people are thinking and acting now– it is so important!
So you really know firsthand how important that bone marrow donor is for a recipient. Thanks for sharing!
Proud of you, sweetheart!
Thanks!
