Can You Really Make a Difference? Sure!

This Saturday, October 27th, is the largest national day of community service all year long.  USA WEEKEND Magazine founded Make a Difference Day more than 20 years ago and each year since people around the globe have used this day to improve the lives of others.

Make a Difference Day is a day to use your time, your hands, your voice and (if possible) your wallet to create change for the better in your community.  Take some time this Saturday to make a difference.

Just a few moments is all it takes.  We can do that, right?

If you would like a few ideas of acts of kindness or suggestions for ways your kids can make differences, go to: http://goo.gl/pwM1j.  To find a Make a Difference Day project in your community, visit: http://daytabank.handsonnetwork.org/advance-search.

So now I will let you in on a little mission of mine, which is going to begin on Make a Difference Day.  Next week is my 40th (gasp) birthday and to celebrate I am going to do 40 acts of kindness. This is my way of showing that making a difference does not take strenuous effort or an endless supply of funds. There are so many, many ways to pay it forward and make differences in the day or life of others.

Stay tuned!
