This time last year I posted some fun new year’s toasts for the social media savvy. In light of recent events, between the ugly election year and the tragedy in Newtown, I need to take time to look forward to 2013 for sanity’s sake. So this year I have put it all into one new year’s toast. This is for you, my friends, as we get ready for the coming year:
Here’s to the new year – 2013
May no tweet or blog comment be vulgar or mean
May your posts and shares on Facebook
Be worth more than just one look
And may all your posts to Pinterest
Peak your followers’ interests
May you go to bed before midnight or wake up after five
And all your blog posts be typo-free when they go live
May none of your emails wind up in spam
And only suitable photos find their way to Instagram
May all of your blog posts be worth a +1 or a stumble
And with all great opportunities may you remain humble
May you have the luxury of unplugging every once in a while
And be reminded that “WAHM chic” is not the only clothing style
May you see the fruits of your labor as they ripen and grow
And not let others pick your brain when they want all you know
May this be the year you find the utmost success
And coast through your deadlines without any stress
May you be re-pinned, re-tweeted and may your posts be well shared
To rest assured that your friends, fans and followers have cared
Last but not least, may your page views triple by fall
Then indeed it would be a very Happy New Year for ALL!
